ABOUT BEATLES NIGHT
From Jim Bruno, Beatles Night Music Director: We did our 2nd annual benefit for Josie’s Place in September at Noe Valley Ministry. Both years it ended up being a very memorable evening that raised funds for a great cause. [It was both fun and deeply moving! ~wb] When Amado’s opened we loved the venue and realized that this would be a great location to host an additional Josie’s Place fundraiser. Were thrilled to be appearing at Amado’s!
ABOUT JOSIE’S PLACE
Josie’s Place provides facilitated peer-support groups free of charge to children and teens in the San Francisco Bay Area who are grieving the death of a significant person in their life. Their support groups normalize the grief process, help counter grieving children’s sense of isolation–they learn they are not alone–and provide outlets for creative expression of grief. The groups offer children new ways of understanding themselves and their loss, help build self-esteem, and strengthen their resilience. Parents or caregivers meet in concurrent groups. Because the whole family is supported, family ties are often strengthened as members grow together through their shared grief.
